Living Social Session Info

Welcome Living Socialites! Thank you for purchasing our Living Social Deal from Living Social Families in Colorado Springs! We’re excited to serve you and your family!

When you’re ready to set up your session, here’s are a few quick things that you need to know:

•We are a small, family owned studio with a love for people. We strive to provide beautiful photography and a fun experience for you and your family. We give a lot of time to each of our clients.
•Custom photography takes time, so please allow about an hour for both your session and your Post-Session Consultation.
•Call about 2-3 weeks ahead of the timeframe you would like to be photographed. Depending on the workload, we can book up to 3 weeks out or more from the time you call.
•Have your Living Social code ready when you call to schedule your session.
•On your session day, please arrive on time for your appointment and be ready to have a great time! Be prepared to come regardless of what the weather looks like. Weather changes quickly here, and stormy skies make for some very beautiful portraits. We guarantee a complete session, so if needed, we will set a new session time.
•At the end of your session, we will select a time for your Post-session consultation. We want all decision-makers present for that appointment, and they typically last anywhere from 30-60 minutes. At your Consultation, you’ll watch a slideshow of all your finalized images, determine your favorites, and use your Living Social voucher. This is also where you would purchase any additional prints or products. We are there to assist you through the process to make sure you’ll love everything you choose.
•We will contact you in about 2-3 weeks when your order is ready for pick up!

Some Questions you may have:
Where is my session going to be?
I do outdoor and on-location photography. For families with infants, this often means having the session in your own home, or somewhere close to home, perhaps at a local park. For this special, I am only doing sessions in Colorado Springs. There are so many beautiful locations, if you need help deciding, I can certainly help.

What to wear?
I get this question a lot, and it’s always different depending on the session type, and the look you are going for. I take a relaxed approach to family portraiture, and as such, I prefer my families to be dressed in natural way that suits them. Although many people like to “match” with everyone wearing the same exact shirts, etc. I find that if families coordinate rather than match, the photos give a more natural feel. For springs and summer, cute summer dresses for the ladies in your family, and solid colored shirts for the men and boys make a nice look. For fall and winter photos, pants, dressy coats, cute hats and scarves, etc. I have included some photos and links to give you an idea of what some of these looks may be.

Kristin Rachelle Photography has put together some great outfits for kids and families as well. Please take a look at her blog for some great ideas. If you have any questions or want a more traditional look, then please do not hesitate to ask me questions, or let me know. This is your session and I want you to love how you look and feel.

How many photos do I get to see?
For this offer, I will be selecting the best 25 images from your session for you to see at your post-session consultation.

What other products do you offer?
For the Living Social coupon, you will be selecting 2-11×14 prints, and 1 image that will be burned to disc as a digital file for your own reprints. This image will be unbranded. I also offer many print sizes from wallets to 16×20 and bigger, albums, mini-albums, slideshows, additional digital files, canvas prints, metal prints, and more.

Where will my post-session Consultation be?
Post-Session Consultations are held at my home studio. When you are ready for yours, I will give the address to you. My home studio is kid-friendly, so feel free to bring the little ones.

Do you offer any discounts?
I will be offering some special packages exclusively for Living Social Customers. Once you have purchased the deal, please let me know if you would like to see those packages prior to your session.

How and when do I pay?
All payments are due in full at the time of ordering. This would be at your Post-Session Consultation, so please come prepared. We accept cash, checks, Visa and Mastercard.

Do I pay Sales Tax for my portraits?
As we are a business registered with the State of Colorado, we are subject to local and state laws regarding sales taxes. You will also be required to pay sales tax on the $40 deal that you have purchased from Living Social, regardless of whether or not you purchase any additional items. Living Social does clearly note this in their fine print.

How many people are in a “family”?
This special is intended for 1 household. This is typically parents and their children that are living with them. On average 3-6 people total. If you have extended family you would like to include, please purchase a voucher as a gift to them and we can schedule the sessions back to back to allow for enough time to photograph everyone, and a greater variety of options for final edited images. If you are using the voucher for senior portraits, this would be limited to just the senior being photographed.
